10 month Lib Dem campaign sees Melksham win a town centre Campus

In a staggering u-turn, the County Hall Conservatives have agreed to the demands of Melksham people, and agreed to locate the new Community Campus in the town centre rather than at Woolmore Farm.

Local Lib Dem Jon Hubbardsaid "We've been fighting the Conservatives plans for almost a year now. It's taken my petition of over 2000 signatures, two consultations, countless town and council meetings, and a town poll, but finally the Conservatives have been forced to listen.

"Now, however we have won the fight and the campus will be built in Melksham's town centre. The most important thing we can do now is work as a team to make sure that Melksham gets the best deal possible.

"We must make sure that the County Hall Conservatives don't short-change us on delivery of this exciting project."

On Thursday the 23rd of June, local residents have the chance to chose who will be their Town Councillor. The choice is clear; Pat Aves, who has fought for the town centre library since the very beginning, or the County Hall Conservatives, who wasted thousands of pounds and risked Melksham's town centre in their plans for an out-of-town campus.
