A detailed application for 90 houses and 3,800 square metres of business units went to the southern area planning committee on August 18th. The scheme already had outline planning permission.

The site consists of 4.1ha of land off Hindon Lane in Tisbury. It is located on the north western side of the village between Tisbury School (the former Nadder Middle School), and Hindon Lane.

Tisbury parish council supported the scheme, though 9 letters of objection were received from residents. Objectors said that the local infrastructure would not be able to cope and there would be traffic problems. The housing density was said to be too high and there were potential problems in relationships to existing properties on Hindon Lane.

However planning officers dismissed the concerns. They said the development would have an 'Anglo'Saxon' layout around a 'village green'. Councillors agreed and permitted the development subject to conditions.
