A hundred years of bussing
2015 marks the centenary of Wilts & Dorset bus company, now known as Salisbury Reds and morebus, and the company is celebrating with a host of initiatives throughout this year.
A celebratory event takes place in Salisbury's Guildhall Square on Sunday 14 June.
Taking place between 10am and 4pm, the 100th birthday party will include family entertainment and an array of vintage buses, dating back to the very early days of Wilts & Dorset.
The Reds will also be launching their commemorative book - A Centenary of Service, the year by year story of Wilts & Dorset.
The event is being held in aid of their charity of the year Salisbury District Hospital's Stars Appeal - and they are expecting an excellent turnout, with many local people and their families enjoying a connection with the buses either as employees or as passengers.
Throughout the day, more than 50 vintage buses will take to the roads on the same routes they have taken since the company was founded in 1915, providing a wonderful spectacle for onlookers across the county.
In the square itself, the team will be on-hand to talk to people about the company's rich history - and the plans for the future. Salisbury Reds has invested £1.7 million in new buses and routes during the past 12 months, including the city's park and ride services - so there is plenty to look forward to as they head towards 2115.
