Agreement reached on Speedy Chef extension

An application by the Warminster takeaway to open until 3am on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights generated an objection from the police on the grounds that the longer hours could contribute to crime and disorder and would not be conducive to public safety. Currently the premises has to close at 1.30am on Wednesday and Thursday nights and 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

A Licensing Hearing was due to be held on April 25th. However the police reached agreement with Speedy Chef on appropriate conditions so the Hearing was cancelled.

The premises will be able to open until 3am on the nights requested, but will have to have an SIA accredited person on the door on Friday & Saturday nights from midnight to 3am, or close of business if sooner.
