Cricket Club license review

26 Jan 2013

Trowbridge Cricket Club has been told to stop playing loud music. Following complaints from neighbours and an application by Wiltshire Council's Environmental Health Department a review of their license was held in Chippenham on Friday January 25th.

The review panel decided that the cricket pavilion was not suitable for live or recorded music because the sound couldn't be contained within the building and was causing a nuisance. A previous decision two years ago to allow live entertainment with conditions had failed to resolve the problem, partly because the club management had not kept to the conditions.

However the club can appeal to the magistrates court, in which case they can continue to hold music events until that appeal is determined.
