Cutting flowers

4 Oct 2015

Wiltshire Council has become notorious for cutting front-line services - youth provision, buses, recycling centres, Children's Centres and so on. The latest victims are flowers and paddling pools. Flower beds in the towns which were previously maintained by the council will be grassed over and toddlers' paddling pools in Melksham and Warminster will be closed. As usual the council says if anyone wanted to run the facility at their own expense then they would be allowed to.

In the great scheme of things this is a little cut, but it's mean and petty. Just like this Conservative administration.
