| Following their success in the 2015 election, when they were able to form the Government despite only having one MP, Ukip are expecting a sweeping victory in the 2017 election whether or not they get any MPs. Responding to Nigel Farage's claims on 'Peston on Sunday' that Theresa May is now using the same language he has been using for 20 years, Liberal Democrat Shadow Foreign Secretary Tom Brake said:
"A vote for Theresa May is now a vote for Nigel Farage. There's no need for Ukip because the Conservatives have become Ukip. Nigel Farage has admitted that they are using his words and standing on his manifesto and Paul Nuttall is standing down candidates against them. Conservative voters shouldn't be fooled.
