Free parking for the school run.

Parents who take their children to school by car could get free parking if their school is close to a WC car park. The allowance would be for 30 minutes morning and afternoon. However there are strict rules to make sure parents behave themselves - any Mum seen popping to the shops during her 30 minutes would be liable to get a parking ticket.

To be eligible for the scheme schools must have a Travel Plan in place. The council would issue permits in collaboration with the school. WC also says that parents who live less than a mile from the school should be 'strongly discouraged' from making use of the scheme.
