Friends of the Earth ask for support for climate Bill

Last week MPs debated the FoE campaign for councils to go green.

Energy Minister Greg Barker said "I cannot agree more that local authorities have a vital role to play if we are to meet our national carbon reduction targets".

But the Government's Energy Bill is still missing tough action to help cut carbon emissions in our villages, towns and cities.

FoE are now asking for help in getting the Government to match its words with action.

Previous lobbying by FoE supporters has helped remove a nuclear loophole from the Bill that could have seen public bailouts of the industry.
