Holbrook Lane Trowbridge - 16 houses at No.16

12 Jul 2012

An application to demolish 16 Holbrook Lane and build 16 houses on the acre of land behind the frontage went to the planning committee on July 11th, and was approved despite a number of objections from residents.

No 16 itself is an eighteenth century cottage and of some historical interest, though it's not listed so there's nothing to prevent its demolition.

The new houses will be a mix of 2,3 and 4 bed dwellings. Developers will have to contribute £63,000 to Holbrook School and £11,000 to the provision of public open space within the development. There are 18 proposed conditions controlling landscaping etc.

An attempt to make the developers pay a small contribution towards road safety on Holbrook Lane was defeated on the chairman's casting vote.
