Hundreds miss out on school places
About 350 families have failed to get their first preference school place in Wiltshire, with over sixty not getting any of their three preferences
However this means that 98.8% of children have been offered one of their three preferences for this September with 93.4% being offered their first preferred school.
Parents who applied online can see which school their child will attend by going to https://admissions.wiltshire.gov.uk/prefs.php . Those who applied by post will have their decisions sent to them by post. All online applicants will also be sent a letter confirming the outcome of their application.
The right to an independent appeal is open to anyone who has not received an offer at one of their preferred schools. The deadline for lodging an appeal for a voluntary controlled or community school is 14 May. Parents who wish to appeal for a place at a voluntary aided, foundation school or an academy should contact the school directly to confirm the appeal deadline date.
Information on how to appeal is provided in the decision letter which will be sent to all applicants and is also available at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/schools-learning-admissions-appealing
