King William Street School Crossing Help

Last year there was a campaign by parents of children at King William Street School to renew the provision of a school crossing patrol person on the busy Eastcott road. At the Swindon Council meeting where this was debated we lost the vote but perhaps not a realization that help should be given. This Summer sees that help take shape with the creation of a scheme to aid crossing the road by highlighting the crossing point to motorists using bollards, paving and signs. Needless to say my preference would have been a new crossing patrol person but the Council was not prepared to change its crazy stance that once gone through retirement etc new patrol people are not employed.
