Lake Dunge?

1 Aug 2012

Wiltshire could have a new lake following the decision of West Wiltshire planning committee to approve an application by the owners of Grange Farm at Dunge to erect four workshops and build a fishing lake. Bratton Parish Council didn't object to the scheme, but West Ashton PC were unhappy about what they saw as the lack of detail in the application.

Planning officers however recommended permission with a number of conditions. There were some questions about where the water to fill the lake was going to come from, but this is for the applicant to sort out with the Environment Agency and not really a planning matter. The committee was also told there would be no movement of soil into or out of the site, with excavated material being used to make bunds around the lake.
