Marlborough Road Depot Housing Application Delayed

The Salvavtion Army application to build social housing units at the old Council depot site off Marlborough Road is still yet to be determined.

Following representations by Cllr Chris Hurst, the planning officer has gone back to the applicant to seek improvements. Chris is concerned that the current application is trying to maximise the profit out of the site rather than take account of what is the best use of the space.

Ultimately, this site is not the best suited for social housing and is not the site originally allocated for social housing in the town's neighbourhood plan.
