Mead School looks for safety improvements

Suggestions for improved facilities for children getting to The Mead School on Paxcroft Mead have been considered by Wiltshire Council. A number of ideas were put forward by the school as part of the 'Taking Action on School Journeys' scheme. Here they are, with WC's answers.

A 'lollipop person' on Leap Gate - No.

School warning signs on Leap Gate - Yes. Two to be installed at a cost of £500.

Reduction in speed limit to 20mph on Leap Gate - No.

Additional pedestrian crossing on Soprano Way - No.

Extension to the car park by the school - No.

Additional parking restrictions on Hackett Place - out for consultation as part of WC proposals for restrictions at various sites in West Wiltshire.

The WC response will be considered by the Town Council on November 11th.
