New cafe for young people in Warminster

A new after school and evening café for young people has opened in Warminster.

Café Beats has been launched by Wiltshire Council's development centre for young people in Warminster.

The cafe is a place for young people to visit after school on Tuesday and Friday evenings. It offers somewhere for young people to socialise and sells food and drink at affordable prices.

Facilities also include internet access as well as software to make music and videos. There will also be music sessions run by the centre's professional musician who has experience of producing music in recording studios as well on stage.

The cafe was opened on Tuesday 3 October. At the opening was the Mayor of Warminster Pip Ridout and PCSO Elizabeth Harmsworth who said: "Cafe beats is a great place for young people to chill out after school and it's free! With cheap food and drink what an excellent way to meet and chat to new people."

Cafe Beats is open to people aged from 11 to 19 on Tuesdays from 3pm to 5.30pm and Fridays from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

Youth development co-ordinator Sam Shore, said: "We have some great music and would love to hear young people's ideas of what else they would like from the café."
