New life for Corsley School

30 Aug 2012

An application from The Steiner School of Frome has been approved by West Wiltshire's planning committee. Steiner intend to use the old primary school in Corsley, which closed in 2007, as a temporary premises until their own new school is completed. Since its closure Corsley School has been used as a conference centre.

The application was for the erection of 3 temporary classrooms and a toilet block, the reinstatement of two existing mobiles, and erection of iron railings round the site. About 130 pupils will attend the school.

Corsley Parish Council objected as they were concerned about the traffic impact. There were also objections from residents. At the meeting a representative of the nearby pre-school also objected because of the possible impact on parking at the site.
