For the second year running shoppers will be able to get an extra hour of parking for free in the run up to Christmas.

In the autumn issue of Wiltshire Council's magazine for residents, 'Your Wiltshire', there will be a Christmas parking voucher which entitles the reader to an extra hour of parking at no extra cost.

The magazine will be hitting people's doormats from 15 October 2012 and residents are urged to look out for the voucher and keep it safe for Christmas.

Cabinet member for highways, Dick Tonge, said: "I really hope people take advantage of this offer to help stimulate shopping in our towns and city in the run up to Christmas.

"All residents in Wiltshire will receive the voucher for one hour free parking when their Your Wiltshire magazine drops through their door. It will be a welcome boost to both businesses and shoppers."

When displaying the voucher alongside their parking ticket from 17-24 December 2012 (inclusive), motorists are entitled to an extra hour free. This voucher can be used as many times as people want within that week.

'Your Wiltshire' will also published be on the council's website www.wiltshire.gov.uk/yourwiltshiremag and available in local libraries. Anyone who does not receive a copy can call the council on 0300 456 0100.
