Pay and Display may be coming to Southwick Country Park

12 Sep 2017

Wiltshire Council's 'cabinet' is considering the introduction of parking charges in a number of car parks around the county which are currently free to use. These include Devizes Market Place, the station car park in Melksham, Southwick Country Park, Westbury Leigh and Smallbrook Meadows in Warminster.

Commuters using the train from Melksham would have to pay £4.50 for an all-day stay, and visitors to Southwick Country Park would be charged £1.30 for a two hour visit.

The proposal has been approved in principle by the WC cabinet, with a period of consultation before the final decision to implement the charges.
