Rebuilding the RUH

1 Jul 2015

Managers of Bath's Royal United Hospital have carried out a comprehensive review of the estate and have developed a strategic plan to improve the quality and standard of accommodation and services provided.

A comprehensive phased masterplan has been prepared which identifies how specific building projects will come forward as more detailed design work is progressed with key stakeholders and clinicians.

The proposals include:

  • a new pharmacy building with aseptic suite;
  • a 400 space visitor car park;
  • an Integrated Therapy Building; and
  • Cancer Treatment Centre.

A Green Infrastructure Plan has also been prepared to support the masterplan and provide a landscape framework for the site. This identifies the opportunities for enhanced green spaces within the hospital campus maximising the health and wellbeing benefits for staff, patients and visitors. This exhibition is part of the consultation we are undertaking to hear people's views. Feedback received will be used to inform the design process and subsequent planning applications made at the RUH campus.

They're holding an event on Tuesday July 14th at 1800 in the Oasis Conference Centre at the RUH.

This event is open to all members of the local community and will start at 6pm with a short presentation from the Trust followed by an opportunity to view the exhibition boards outlining the detailed proposals.

For those unable to attend the event the exhibition boards will also be made available online on the RUH website after the event.

After the event the exhibition boards will be located in the reception foyer of the Hospital. Comments can be emailed to ConsultancyEvents.southwest@eu.jll.com
