Councillor Stan Pajak who led the battle to keep the Regent Circus Morrisons open and has lived all his life in the Town Centre reports he has never seen the shopping centre look in such a poor state. Empty shops have become the norm not the exception.
Stan said "Every promise of a new shopping revamp to the centre by the Conservative Council has failed to happen while our neighbours such as Gloucester, Bath, Cheltenham, Bristol, Oxford and Bath have all had major shopping centre improvements. Swindon has failed to attract new retail investment at a local level."
