Saving Britain's pubs

CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, is a consumer group which acts as the independent voice for real ale drinkers and pub goers. The vision of CAMRA's 165,000 members is to have quality real ale and thriving pubs in every community.
Beer and pubs play a crucial role in our local community and economy. However, many community pubs are in crisis and 29 are closing every week across the UK, with devastating consequences for community life and social cohesion.
Especially important, they say, is the introduction of suitable planning controls in the change of use or demolition of pubs.
