Scores miss out in secondary school lottery

1 Mar 2017

Figures released today show 4% of Wiltshire children - about 200 people - will not be able to attend their first choice of secondary school from this September. About 50 children didn't get any of their first three preferences. Parents who applied online are finding out the decision today. The results of online applications are available at https://admissions.wiltshire.gov.uk/prefs.php. The numbers of parents applying are also up on last year as the number of children increases. There were 4,621 applications received this year - 99 more than in 2016. Applicants have until Wednesday 15 March to accept the offer. The right to an appeal is open to anyone who has not received one of their preferred schools. Further information is also available at www.wiltshire.gov.uk/schooladmissions .
