Speed limit reductions for Mere and Maiden Bradley

29 Jun 2012

Wiltshire Council has advertised reductions from 60 to 50mph along the B3092 and B3095, despite a few objections. The local parish councils supported the reduction, though a spokesman for the "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" was worried about the clutter caused by the extra signage required.

The 3092 is the road from Frome to Mere. Three sections are affected: from the Somerset border to Maiden Bradley, from Maiden Bradley to Kilmington, and from Mere to the Dorset border. A stretch of the road south of Frome within Somerset has already had a limit of 40mph recently introduced.

Two sections of the 3095 are to be reduced: Longbridge Deverill to Brixton Deverill, and Whitesheet Hill to Mere.
