Over the last couple of years WC has been reviewing speed limits on A and B roads throughout the county. That process is now complete and the council says it won't look again at these limits unless there's a drastic change in the nature of the road, for example because of nearby development.

The next job is to review limits on class C and unclassified roads. Rather than look at them individually the council is to do the review by picking out roads with high accident rates and asking the Area Boards to consider if the speed limit needs to be changed. The process will start next year.

Roads which already have 30mph limits won't be included in the review, though extensions of 30mph zones could be considered.

Please get in touch if you have any suggestions for roads where the speed limit needs to be reduced and we'll pass your suggestions on to the appropriate Area Board.
