...actually applies to homes of any colour. Homeowners and landlords can now get funding to pay for energy saving measures and businesses are being encouraged to register their services.

The scheme means homeowners can obtain up to two-thirds of the cost of energy saving measures - up to £5000. Lower-income households could be entitled to claim as much as £10,000 to cover the cost.

Businesses who wish to be accredited under this scheme can register with Trust Mark via their website at: https://www.trustmark.org.uk/

The registration process should only take around five working days for businesses who already have a membership of a recognised trade body such as the Federation of Master Builders, the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency and Building Engineering Services Association, or who are already certified under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme.

Homeowners can begin seeking quotes before the scheme launches at the end of September so the council is advising interested businesses to register promptly. The scheme is national and Wiltshire businesses registering for the scheme helps to secure local jobs and boost the economy.

Home improvements covered by the scheme include insulation of walls, floors and roofs, installation of double or triple glazing to replace single glazing and low-carbon heating. These measures could help families save up to £600 a year on their energy bills.

Installers must meet Publicly Available Specification Standards to install energy efficiency measures. All work under the Green Homes Grant scheme must be completed to PAS 2030:2017, however if an installer has already transitioned to PAS 2030:2019 they can work to this standard instead.

Installers must meet the relevant Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) to install low carbon heat measures.
