Time for action on Marlborough Road

1 Jan 2014

Cllr Chris Hurst has been leading the campaign to reduce the 60mph speed limit along Marlborough Road.

Recent accidents along the road have demonstrated the need to reduce the speed of vehicles.

After action from Chris, the Council's Highways department are recommending reducing the speed limit to 40mph.

The Area Board has now agreed to support reducing the speed limit. Before it can pass, a final decision has to be taken by Wiltshire Council's cabinet member for Highways.

Chris says, 'a 40mph limit will not only benefit the residents who live along the road but will slow down traffic as it enters the town at the 30mph sign'.
