Tory cuts hit Wiltshire

Here's a list of some of the more significant cuts to frontline services being inflicted by the Conservative administration on the people of Wiltshire:

- cuts to voluntary sector grants: £355,000

- cuts to music and the arts: £261,000

- cuts to street lighting: £361,000

- cuts to bus services: £530,000

- additional cuts to concessionary fares for the elderly and the disabled: £70,000

- cuts to road safety: £24,000

- cuts to streetscene and highways: £300,000

- cutting the free garden waste collection: £800,000

- charging for new bins and black boxes: £280,000

- charging charities for waste collection: £63,000

- cuts to Household Recycling Centres: £300,000

- cuts to museum services: £70,000

- charging town and parish councils for by-elections: £30,000

The Tories are also promising a council tax rise of 2% next year - this year there's a general election so the council tax will be frozen.
