An update on plans by the Trowbridge Town Hall Trust for the transfer of the Town Hall to them goes to Wiltshire Council's Capital Assets Committee next week. WC intends to keep its options open by working with the Trust to help them make use of the Hall, whilst at the same time being ready to sell the building on the open market if the Trust isn't successful.

By the end of 2013 the council should be able to make that decision. If the Trust takes over the building it could be on the basis of a full asset transfer, or a repairing and insuring lease.

The commercial value of the building is described as 'below £250,000' whilst the cost of maintaining it is £40,000 per year.
