Wiltshire Coarse Tragedy - Trowbridge campaigners object
"Campaign for a Better Trowbridge" have complained to Wiltshire Council because important documents relating to a WC Seminar on the Core Strategy held in the Council Chamber on 24/3/11 have not yet been published on WC's website.
CBT point out that there are now only 5 weeks left for people to be "consulted" and they feel that the residents of Trowbridge and the surrounding villages need to see a balanced view.
"After much perusal through the very lengthy Core Strategy document we still cannot find any reference to the "Low Growth Option" that we requested in our report to the WC Seminar on 24/3/11," they say. "We refer to these three documents as "important" because our report read out in the Council Chamber that evening was the only item that received a loud and excited round of applause."
CBT also compIain that the consultation document is incomprehensible. "I have yet to meet a member of the public who can understand the Core Strategy because of the language used," said a CBT spokesman. "How can the public be consulted on a document that uses planning jargon and secret terminology? Lots of things you would expect to find, ie: maps of new roads, discussion about traffic jams, what the town centre is going to look like by 2026, etc, etc. are not there! Sadly,a lot of people are very disappointed because an important document reads as nonsense to them, particularly when you consider that "Localism" is Government policy."
