Wiltshire Core Strategy

Wiltshire Council officers spent a couple of months analysing the one thousand seven hundred responses received from individuals and organisations during the consultation period which ended on April 2nd. They decided not to make any significant changes.

Before being sent off to the Secretary of State for examination and approval the final version of the Strategy was considered by Wiltshire councillors. There were three meetings for this:

Environment Scrutiny Committee Monday June 11th Agenda item 10.

Cabinet Tuesday June 19th.

Then at Council on June 26th the plan was approved and sent off for inspection. Although none of the objectors' comments were deemed worthy of serious consideration an amendment to restrict possible locations of wind turbines, put forward on the day by Cllr Linda Conley, was passed.
