Wiltshire Council asks for suggestions

Next week a random selection of 25,000 Wiltshire residents will receive a ''What matters to you' survey with a covering letter from the leader of the council, Jane Scott. Residents will be asked to complete the survey by answering questions on a range of topics that affect life where they live including:

- How and what WC spends money on

- What can WC do to improve life?

- How can WC improve safety?

- Your views on other public services.

- The natural environment.

The responses will be analysed and a full report will be produced in January and published on the council website. This will then be used by the council, NHS Wiltshire, Wiltshire Fire and Rescue and Wiltshire Police to help develop policies which affect local communities.

If you're not one of the lucky 25,000 you can still do the survey. Any Wiltshire resident over 16, including staff, can complete the survey by accessing it in the following ways:

• Online on the Wiltshire Council, Wiltshire Police, NHS Wiltshire or Wiltshire Wildlife Trust websites. Also some town and parish councils have agreed to host the survey on their websites
• By requesting a survey from customer services by telephone or email
• Copies will be held in libraries and leisure centres

Wiltshire Council Customer Service staff have been told about the survey and can help with any queries.

WC will also be locating 'ballot boxes' in council buildings to encourage residents to return their completed surveys.

All information given in the survey will be treated in confidence and personal information will not be passed on to any third parties.
