Wiltshire Council budget meeting

A budget amendment from the Lib Dem group to get an extra hour's opening at Household Recycling Centres, paid for by reducing the amount spent on expensive conferences, was defeated by the administration.

An amendment from the Conservatives to use the savings iidentified in the Lib Dem budget for spending on pavements, with £150,000 being delegated to Area Boards, got cross-party support and was accepted. The budget as a whole, with its 5% council tax increase, was passed.
