5 Sep 2017

A report to the WC cabinet (agenda) shows a deficit on the current account of nearly four and a half million pounds. Council officers say they hope to have the accounts back under control by the end of the financial year, preferably without having to raid the reserves yet again.

The main red areas are:

Special Educational Needs, £1.796m

Car parking, 0.250m

Arts and Libraries, 0.400m

Business services, 0.160m

Restructure and Contingency (sic), £1.878m

in addition there are what's described as 'pressures' of 2.2m on the Adult Social Care budget.
