Wiltshire's children are worth less

One of the anomalies created by the Labour government, which the coalition has so far failed to put right, is the difference in the amount of funding going to children and schools in different parts of the country.

Wiltshire schools get £4,593 per pupil from the government. A child in Hampshire is deemed to be worth £4,648 and in Bath the figure is £4,788. The difference means that the average primary school loses about £39,000 per year in funding compared with Bath and for a secondary school the figure is £200,000.
