Wiltshire Council has put in an application to establish a base for its activities in the centre of Devizes. Three vacant shop units will be used as a WC centre when the Browfort offices and registry office are shut down later this year.
Some council officers will work from the site and people will be able to can pay their council tax there.
Marriages and civil partnerships will also be performed in Snuff Street.
